Following a Surgical Research Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons, in 2011 Mr Branford was awarded his PhD at RAFT in tissue engineering in plastic surgery from University College London.
He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and a number of book chapters. His last 3 published articles in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery are the 2nd, 4th and 9th most read articles of all time in plastic surgery.
Mr Branford has presented his work at 40 national and International meetings and is a scientific peer reviewer for 14 plastic surgery and related scientific journals, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS). He is associate editor for PRS Global Open and is on the steering committee for the iBRA National Multicentre Prospective Study for Breast Reconstruction; the largest prospective study in breast reconstruction to date.
Mr Branford was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery FRCS(Plast) in 2014 and has undertaken Fellowships in extremity reconstruction, breast reconstruction and head and neck cancer microsurgical reconstruction at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and also as in breast reconstruction at The Royal Marsden.
He currently works at the Royal Marsden in London as a Plastic Surgeon specialising in breast surgery. He will be a clinical supervisor for RAFT’s breast surgery projects.
