THE HOSPITAL SATURDAY FUND GRANT
SUPPORTING LIFE AFTER BREAST CANCER CAMPAIGN
Leonor Stjepic (RAFT Chief Executive Officer), Paul Jackson (HSF Chief Executive), John Abbey (RAFT Director of Development) and Dr. Lilian Hook (RAFT Chief Scientific Officer)
RAFT welcomed the Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF) to its Northwood research centre at Mount Vernon Hospital, to receive a generous £7,000 donation to support its pioneering research into breast reconstruction, with the aim of vastly improving outcomes for women.
Paul Jackson, Chief Executive (CE) for the Hospital Saturday Fund, presented the cheque to Leonor Stjepic, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at RAFT, on behalf of the Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF).
The grant will help RAFT to fund the Life After Breast Cancer Campaign, which was launched in October 2015 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month acknowledged globally, with a Pink Cocktail Reception hosted by The Organic Pharmacy. The campaign is dedicated to improving post-cancer care and help to rebuild the lives of breast cancer survivors.
About the Hospital Saturday Fund
The Hospital Saturday Fund is a UK charity that was founded in 1873 by pioneers in social and philanthropic work to help people to afford medical care. The Fund has ‘tailored’ its benefits to suit modern needs and these are now offered through HSF health plan, a name adopted in recent years. Profits from the trading company, HSF health plan, are channeled into the ‘parent’ charity, The Hospital Saturday Fund, to enable these charity donations to be made. In 2015, The Hospital Saturday Fund will be making grants totaling £850,000 to medical charities, hospices and hospitals across the UK and Ireland.
